atop the grand oak tree
the birds and bees and sweet air
sing their songs to me
a summer morning musing
a field alive with blooms
the deer and rabbit gentle
invite me to their rooms
a summer morning musing
beneath the summer sun
who shines and smiles down on me
as merrily i run
a summer morning musing
the beauty of a life
who loves the world immensely
forgetting all its strife
a summer morning musing
at last I must return
back to the place i came from
where i await my turn
to be a child of nature
to be a child of love
i live for every moment
and summer's every grove.
